Hayseed Dixie Shook us all Show Long
The interview was mostly one-sided, as the lead singer John had a number of great stories/bits and just launched into them a mile a minute. It was really hard to tell how much of his personality was a put-on, which is great. I mean, he was authentic hillbilly, and his compatriots had a pedigree of famous musicians in their genes, but he also had a masters degree in philosophy from some high caliber private universities. Quite the interesting mix of brilliance and banality. Click on the image to see the rest of the pictures from the performance. The performance at the Continental Club was really good, too. They played buttloads of AC/DC, Kiss, traditional bluegrass done in-your-face rock style, and some original tunes. Tuesday, September 16, 2003
Brodingnagian Bards, live on the 25th
Everyone's favorite Austin-centric Celtic duo, the Brodingnagian Bards, will be medievaly rocking the hizouse on the 25th. Don't think Celtic music has much to do with the mission statement of Nummy Muffin? Well, think again. These guys are constantly churning out the funny, with songs like "Donald, Where's Your Trousers", "Do Virgins Taste Better", and so on. Plus, their Latest album, Memories of Middle Earth, is entirely inspired by and about The Lord of the Rings. So stay tuned to the show, and in the meantime, learn more about the Bards, by going to http://www.thebards.net. Thursday, August 28, 2003
The Room of Infinite Plot Convenience
Ah, it's the start of another semester of novelty goodness, and I'm celebrating it the way any good geek should, by dressing up as the Holodeck from Star Trek: The Next Generation... and by totally revamping the website. What are people saying about the site design? Well, long-time listener Mindy says "looks pretty good!", and with high praise like that, how can you stay away? The big announcement is that THE SHOW ARCHIVE IS BACK!! Just go to the Vault and you'll be able to download recent shows. Not only that, but the shows have corresponding playlists, so you can get some idea of what you're in store for. You'll also find live performances and promos in the Vault, as well. Finally, please stop by the discussion board and say hello. I'll be announcing some internet-only contests soon. |

Why is Roy sad? War got him down? Out of a job? Looking for love? No. He's sad because
Nummy Muffin Cocoa Butter needs a new theme song. The old one (by the Great Luke Ski)
is awesome, but it is also severely out of date, mentioning hosts that no longer do the
show. Think you can make a new theme song and make Roy happy again? Let him know.
