Hayseed Dixie on 2003-10-30 Holy Crap! What a peformance. The boys from Hayseed Dixie stopped by the show and laid it down.I mean, they really testified to the glory that is alcohol and rock-infused bluegrass. Originally conceived as an AC/DC bluegrass tribute band, they've branched out to covering other bands' songs and writin' originals (such as Poop in a Jar and Ellie Schaffer). But what really makes it all work is the musicianship of the band. Some of the banjo and mandolin work on these tracks are just astounding, even as their singin' about poop. Smart, funny, intelligent rednecks are a frightening force to behold. |

The Brobdingnagian Bards on 2003-09-25 So DO virgins taste better than those who are not? Find out by listening to this celtic comedy collection of craziness by the Brobdingnagian Bards. Marc and Andrew play their tails off in this performance, which is good, because the fact that they had tails was kindof creepy. They sing songs about Star Wars, the Lord of the Rings, the aforementioned virgins, whiskey and trousers, as only two guys with a harpsichord and mandolen can. |

Jerm Pollet on 2003-04-03 Jerm Pollet rocked the hizouse. And by the hizouse I mean the KVRX studio. He played the whole hour before a small, rapt audience. Always willing to improvise at the drop of hat, Jerm kept the good vibes flowing. He also sang a few songs for No Pants Day, which made us very happy. And here are all the songs, distilled for your listening pleasure: |

Owen Egerton on 2002-11-13 Digital technology is a wonderful wonderful thing. For instance, when Jerm played on the show, his performance was burned to CD *while* he was playing. To tranfer to mp3, all I had to do was pop it in the computer and do some minor editing. In comparison, when Owen Egerton played on the show, unforseen circumstances caused me to have to record the show onto cassette tape. The process to get it from tape to mp3 took several months of grueling hand transcription. Each night I would hold a section of tape up to my flickering Virgin Mary candle and carefully record the data.
Now, at long last, I have the complete selection of Owen's songs up for you, the patient listener. I had to guess at some of the song titles, so please forgive me if they're wrong. |
