| NUMMY MUFFIN COCOA BUTTER: THE ARTISTS: SUDDEN DEATH |
| ARTIST: Review: By Roy contact: email: spice@netacc.net, homepage: http://www.netacc.net/~spice/SuddenDeath Sudden Death is a breath of fresh air in the vast wasteland of novelty rap. Just like Luke Ski and Shad Rapp, Sudden Death has TALENT when it comes to rapping. That's why their latest album, "Unplugged" is such an enjoyable listen. It doesn't matter how much time you spend on lyrics. If you can't rap, it's simply not funny. At any rate, I didn't come here to preach. I came to review. "Unplugged", which is anything but, starts off with a VERY timely song, South Park Junkie. Big surprise, it's doing exceedingly well on Dr. Demento. The good thing about this song is that it's the first Southpark tribute I've heard that didn't rely almost ENTIRELY on samples from the show. Sure, they're there. But the core of the song lies in original material. Plus, it's really darn funny and catchy. Reason number 2 I love this CD: Crossovers. I don't why, but nothing makes me happier than different artists getting together and helping out on each others' album. This album features both Luke Ski (Insane & the Brain, etc...) and Mr. Zipp (Bob Dole: Sex Machine) on 2 of the best songs on the album, "Halitosis" & "The Mouth". There's songs about fake breasts, fake gangtas, getting kicked in the balls, and even having sex with reindeer(!). There's also a Weird Al Cover. Who could ask for more than that? |
